Brendan Bell

Brendan is a Principal at Aligned Intermediary (AI), which is an investment advisory firm focused on accelerating the flow of institutional capital into climate infrastructure-clean energy, clean water, and clean waste. AI's eleven members have more than $1 trillion of AUM and have pledged more than $1.6 billion through the AI platform. At AI, Brendan originates, structures, and manages investments. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Summit Ridge Energy, a distributed solar developer based in Virginia, USA. Prior to joining AI, Brendan was appointed by President Barack Obama to be the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the U.S. Department of Energy's Loan Programs Office (LPO). In this role, he helped manage LPO's more than $32 billion loan portfolio of innovative energy projects, managed business development, and led the program's public policy priorities. Brendan has more than 15 years of experience working on clean energy deployment and climate change solutions in both the public and private sector, including serving as a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Senator Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ). He holds an undergraduate degree from Macalester College and earned his Master of Public Management (MPM) from the University of Maryland, College Park.
