An idea worth spreading

We all know that mental health is real issue of Pakistan these days, many people are suffering from it but actually very less are aware of this, as per my personal research many of the young generations between age group of 19 to 25 are suffering from this in Pakistan, but they cannot discuss about it publically. because due to lack awareness people often consider as "Pagal Hogya hai, ya isko Jinn Chippat Gya hai". and instead to take advice from doctor people usually consult from preachers. So Now how can we deal from it? In my opinion, we must have to form a small support group in our circles to help the people who are suffering from mental illness. and sit on weekly bases to talk to them and discuss new ideas that how we can end this stigma of mental health from our society and treat it like ordinary illness such as fever and cough.

The TED story

So its all started in October 2016, when I felt that is recovering from Depression, thanks to my friends Naveen Rathore and Saqib Junejo from helping me over the years. So in January 2017, I started research on mental health stigmas in Pakistan. and after a few months reading some assumptions and observing people around me I started to discuss it from people over internet forums and then I realized that how much this thing can be dangerous for someone's life, So then I started to talk to those people who are going through it, first I started from my circle from one of my juniors from college who have an anger and trust issues to people due to he was bullied in school and his/her classmates started his/her social boycott. so this situation got him/her in depression. after the talks of 4 to 5 weeks I felt the change in his/her personality and later on, he/she made new friends, started hanging out with new people and now he/she lives his/her life at fullest. After this over the internet forums, I consult a person who is sexually harassed by one of his/her friends and he/she was on the verge to commit a suicide, so then I started talking to her and discuss all the problems and issues from her and after the talks of two and three months, he/she started excelling in his/her life and got a scholarship to MIT. So after all this work one day I was going through news feeds of facebook so I found that Team TEDx NEDUniversity is curating Potential Speakers from the crowd, all they want the story and some notable work that bring change in someone's life. I shared my work and story from them, and after five days I got a mail from them "That I am selected as a speaker for TEDx NEDUniversity" so on May 8, 2018. I delivered my first TEDx Talk at TEDxNEDUniversity.
