Matt Glendinning

Athlete, Change Agent, Educator/Teacher, Explorer

Matt Glendinning became head of the Moses Brown School in July, 2009. An administrator, athlete, and scholar with a decade of leadership in Friends schools, Matt also served as upper school director and teacher of ancient history at Moorestown Friends School, Moorestown, New Jersey. He taught at Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia (1996-2004), and held positions at Phillips Academy, Chestnut Hill College, and the University of North Carolina. Matt was a program director and dean of students for the Cambridge Prep Experience, a summer institute for middle school students, in Cambridge, England. He received the NAIS Edward E. Ford Fellowship for Emerging Leaders (2003-2004), and held a Fulbright Fellowship in Greece. Matt earned his B.A. from Dartmouth, a master’s in education from Arcadia University, and his doctorate, in classical archaeology, from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
