Bio

Hi there, my name is Gaurav Prasathong and I am an aspiring computer information technology student who is passionate about technology and entrepreneurship. Having a strong interest in the latest advancements in the tech industry has allowed me to progress in building a solid foundation of technical skills. In pursuit of my passion, I have taken a range of courses in programming, database management, web development, and networking. Along with the skills I have acquired over the years, I am constantly seeking out new opportunities to learn and grow. More than just a tech enthusiast, I am always an entrepreneur at heart, with a keen interest in business development and management. Through my passion, I have developed a great understanding of the importance that technology plays in driving growth and profitability, and I am eager to apply my technical expertise to create innovative solutions that can help businesses succeed. In addition to my academic pursuits, I am deeply committed to giving back to the community. I believe that everyone deserves access to the benefits of technology and am looking forward to actively being involved in various community outreach programs that aim to bridge the digital divide and provide opportunities for underserved populations. Ways I like to stay involved are by enrolling in programs such as coding camps for underprivileged youth, community tech support events, and teaching digital literacy to seniors. Other than my academics, I am also a professional DJ and have a great passion for music. I believe that music is an important part of any community's cultural fabric, and I see it as a way to connect people from all walks of life. With the unique combination of technical expertise, entrepreneurial drive, community spirit, and artistic talent, I aim to make a lasting impact in the field of computer information technology, achieve my goals, and use my skills to create a positive impact on the world.

The TED story

Everything began with a dream. a desire to uplift others, spread ideas, and alter the course of events. When I planned a TED Talk event in high school with the intention of motivating a new generation of students, that goal came true. After attending a TEDx event in my city, I had the idea to organize a TED Talk event. The speakers' stories and concepts inspired me, and I knew I wanted to implement something similar in my own community. But I quickly understood that planning such an event would not be simple, especially with limited resources. However, I was committed to making it happen. I contacted my network of acquaintances and coworkers, and with their assistance, I was able to obtain a small grant from a number of sources. I was able to reserve a location, purchase equipment, and cover marketing materials. The next challenge was to find speakers who would be willing to participate in the event. I knew that I wanted to showcase a diverse range of ideas and perspectives, so I reached out to people from different backgrounds and professions. I contacted academics, activists, entrepreneurs, and artists, and I was thrilled when they agreed to participate. With the speakers confirmed, the next step was to orchestrate the event itself. I recruited a team of volunteers who helped with everything from setting up the stage to managing the registration desk. We worked tirelessly to ensure that everything was in place and that the event would run smoothly. Finally, the day of the event arrived. The speakers took to the stage one by one, sharing their ideas and experiences with the audience. They spoke about topics ranging from climate change to mental health to social justice, and their talks were received with enthusiasm and applause. But the impact of the event didn't end there. Over the coming days and weeks, people in the community began to share their own experiences and ideas inspired by the TED Talk. They started conversations, formed new connections, and even launched their own initiatives based on the talks they had heard. For me, the success of the TED Talk was not just in the event itself but in the impact it had on the community. It showed me that even with limited resources, it is possible to make a difference and inspire change. It was a powerful reminder that we all have the ability to create something meaningful and impactful, as long as we have the determination and the passion to make it happen.
