About Laura

I am a…

Architect, Brainstormer, Event planner, Global soul, Idea generator, World traveler

Bio

I'm an architect by training and a strategist by nature. I design connections — between people, ideas, and places. I work at the intersection of marketing, communication, event planning, and social impact. I believe in beauty as a tool for change, and in ideas that move people. Words matter. Context matters more.

I'm passionate about

I'm driven by curiosity and a constant desire to grow. I’m passionate about the sea, the architecture of cities, the balance between solitude and connection, the beauty of contrasts and the search for meaning. I’m inspired by people, by their stories, and by what happens when ideas meet real life. And I believe that wonder is not a luxury — it's a way of seeing.

An idea worth spreading

I believe in beauty — not as decoration, but as a force that transforms. In the quiet power of places to heal, regenerate, connect. In nature as a teacher, and in commitment as a way of standing in the world. I believe in care — deep, radical care — and in everything that comes with it: understanding, kindness, inclusion, the courage to embrace diversity, and the grace to welcome imperfection.

The TED story

I discovered TED in 2006. I never stopped watching. Since then, I’ve helped ideas grow and move — one event, one team, one story at a time. I’ve been the licensee of TEDxReggioEmilia since 2011, and over the years I’ve co-organized several formats: TEDxWomen, TEDxSalon, TEDxCountdown. I’ve curated more than 15 TEDx events and supported others as a volunteer in marketing and strategy. In 2017, I attended TEDFest in New York — a turning point, and a kind of homecoming. At the center, always: people and ideas. We’ve built a curious, engaged, generous community — a team of professionals, volunteers and friends who put time, care and skills into every detail. And we’ve grown thanks to partners who share our values and support the project with heart and trust. I still feel something special every time someone steps on stage to share what really matters.

Things you might not know

Feeling the undercurrent in a room — even in silence. Bringing together people who would never have met, and making complexity feel simple, even warm. Maybe it's because I come from a blend of cultures — Eritrea, Italy, Yemen — a mix that taught me to listen between the lines and move between worlds. Or maybe it’s written in the stars: Sagittarius rising Virgo, forever pulled between exploration and order, instinct and structure. I find meaning in contrasts, and peace in the in-between. That’s where I feel most at home.
