Bio
A creative engineering undergrad with profound love for the written word. I know my way around computer code, poetry and regular sessions of melancholic brooding. I believe that a TED talk has the potential to change you within that span of 18 minutes, and have been a follower and organizer ever since.
I'm passionate about
Writing. Everything around us is an unspoken mesh of words that I love to unravel. The rush of an evening in a tropical monsoon, as you move past the red sea of traffic lights and half drenched hawkers selling you their suffering. This overwhelming sense of different thoughts wrestling each other, can only be calmed through words.
An idea worth spreading
The Urgency of Now
Whilst listening to a storytelling session, the narrator emphasised that we're so occupied in capturing a moment, in preservation that we completely miss out on experiencing the moment itself. To be able to show a moment to others through modern technology is great, but to be able share an experience, an emotion and not just some random combination of pixels is truly the definition of our emotional capabilities. If we start viewing each person as a story, and not a name or entity, it can help us gather the limited amount of time that we have, and form long lasting connections.
The TED story
First stumbled upon a TEDx talk by Graham Shaw that challenged a very widespread misconception that we cannot draw. The talk in eighteen minutes not only showed me that I can draw but how to have fun while doing it. Then Strange Answers to the Psychopath test gave me shivers when I watched it on a silent night.
When I joined college, I decided to become a part of the TEDx team. Over two events, the team has taught me a lot of things, and how to keep the spirit of ideas burning inside us.
