The TED story
I got hooked on TED in 1999 when TEDster Tom Rielly recruited me to stay up all night to glue photos to the ends of long poles for a reenactment of Apple's spinning translucent iMac G3 commercials as part of the TED wrap-up. In the years that followed, I found myself producing and co-writing these TED satires. In that role, I experienced Secret-Service-generated flop-sweat inside a gorilla costume backstage, had to find a blow-up sex doll in greater Monterey with matching underwear for Tom, and on stage I have been slapped in the face while wearing a kimono loosely inspired by Chris Anderson's Asian-accented shirt.
