Catinca Tabacaru

Catinca is an attorney, an entrepreneur and an art/film curator based out of New York City. She obtained her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 2003; and her J.D. and LL.M. from Duke University School of Law in 2007. While earning her higher degree she interned for the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) in Arusha, Tanzania, and worked as a legal assistant for the Office of Chief Defense Counsel for the Military Commissions in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. After spending two years as a commercial litigator for Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP, Catinca's search for creativity and meaning in her career led her down two parallel tracks: she returned to the not-for-profit international public service world and re-ignited her art dealing and consultancy company. In the past two years, Catinca has also become an art curator focused on conceptual exhibits highlighting civil rights and social movements themes. An idealist with a pragmatic mind, Catinca focuses on playing her part in transforming our global society into a more prosperous and just place, where people are equally privy to freedom and opportunity.

I am passionate about making this world a better and more beautiful place. I focus my work on both of these objectives.
