Bio

George Andriopoulos is the award-winning founder and CEO of Launchpad Five One Six, a management consulting firm providing organizations with tools and resources to innovate and thrive. A creative disruptor and corporate turnaround artist, George inspires change for businesses and individuals stuck in the mindset of defining themselves by their mistakes. As self-proclaimed “Chief Inspiration Officer,” George’s mantra is to turn the weaknesses of who you thought you were into the strengths of who you want to become. He’s taken his unique journey and experience to the stage as a TEDx, keynote, and motivational speaker, delivering talks that spark inspiration and change. George also owns a digital marketing agency, a private think-tank company, and most recently acquired a partnership in startup tech company Concierge 360. A co-founder of the non-profit Shannon’s Fight that provides financial aid to families in medical crisis, George volunteers with the speaker’s bureau at Ronald McDonald House Long Island, and is a coach and director for his local Police Athletic League.

I'm passionate about

I'm especially passionate about people and their ability to make change when they have the right tools. I started my company, because I wanted to change the face of modern business and give smaller businesses the tools that are normally only afforded to larger companies. Whether it's a business or an individual, if you give someone the tools to succeed, they will flourish and they will make change. I'm passionate about helping people attain that change.

An idea worth spreading

My first TEDx was titled "The Impact of Innovation via Disruption" and I feel that everything that I've done that's made an impact has stemmed from this concept. Stop looking at concepts with a single view. Broaden your mind. If you can't disrupt an industry, then start by disrupting yourself in order to create the change inside of you. If you make a mistake, don't sweat it...it's just practice. This will lead to innovation and you will change the world, whether it's in a small way or a big way.

The TED story

My first TED presentation was at TEDxDeerPark and I was beyond excited and humbled to be asked to present. Writing my TED Talk, "The Impact of Innovation via Disruption," was a very sobering experience as I tried tying my personal journey to my overall message. My talk changed forms at least 20 times in the week leading up to the TEDx event, but standing on that stage and engaging the crowd who seemed to relate to my story was so cathartic for me. I was able to get a lot of my feelings out on that stage and it really felt like my life had come full circle when my 15 minutes expired, allowing me to embrace the next stage of my personal growth.

Things you might not know

Art. If I had never gone down this path, I would most certainly be a cartoonist today. I tend to tap into my creative side when I'm most intellectually stimulated, so I've tried to incorporate that aspect of my skillset by adding a marketing agency to my consultancy.
