I'm passionate about
I am passionate about education but not in the form it is being administered now
An idea worth spreading
Education could have been a source of breaking power structures but it has been rebuilding them...I wish to see how educational planning, curriculum and leadership could be re-engineered for making education more inclusive and becoming a source of peace and harmony at large
The TED story
I was born in a middle class conservative Pakistani family. I was told during my teen age that I cannot do certain things because of my gender, religion and economic status. I kept studying and working. I became a rebel once i had done my masters and started earning. I wanted to break the model of gender, religious and socioeconomic stereotypical model prevailing around me. Today I am heading the department of educational planning policy studies and leadership where I offered the first course of Critical Thinking and Reflective Practice for the teachers and educational leaders. My major work and concern is to re-engineer educational nexus to make it more inclusive for all. I am working with a vibrant team of educators and research students. I don't know if I succeed or fail but I am determined to do my best effort for making education a pathway to peace and socioeconomic development in a country like Pakistan.
