Bio
I studied bioengineering at the free University of Brussels (VUB & ULB) and have a PhD in developmental biology from the same university. During my PhD, I used the zebrafish as a model to study thyroid development.
After my PhD, I left for San Francisco for a Post-doc at UCSF. There, I studied brain development while still using the zebrafish, my favorite animal model.
Upon my return in Belgium, I worked as a consultant for BCG for 2.5 years, focusing on supporting pharma companies in their strategy.
I then decided to make a radical change of field and began working at the CAD, college of advertising and design, where I'm in charge of communication and international relations.
In my free time, I take care of my little daughter. Before that (when I had more time for myself), I used to love rowing, and performed twice as a lead actor in amateur plays, which I'd like to do again soon.
I also discovered yoga while being pregnant of my first child, Juliette, and hope I'll get back to the mat soon!
I'm passionate about
Travelling the world with my husband and hopefully soon with our daughter.
Taking care of my home to make sure we feel well and peaceful there.
Eating, all kinds of food, sweet and savoury.
Amateur acting in regional plays.
A good glass of wine with some music and excellent company!
Areas of expertise
Design, Education, Healthcare, Interior Architecture, Management Consulting, Zebrafish
The TED story
Can't remember the first TED I watched, but I remember that discovering TED made me feel good, and hopeful I would discover inspiring people and stories.
Things you might not know
Quite an open book already... maybe taking good care of my family?
