Founder of GCK Experience Link, a company that focuses on youth development by providing them with opportunities to make connections beyond the classroom such as the Kenya Experience service-learning initiatives and mentor programs to help them link with communities. Founder of Global Connections Foundation NJ Corp, a 501(c)3, non-profit organization whose mission is to link United States communities with Kenyan villages through educational diplomacy programs. Co-founder of Hopewell-Keroka Alliance, a 501 (c) 3, a non-profit organization that links Hopewell Valley Community with the Keroka area of South Western Kenya to improve people's lives in the villages by helping develop infrastructure and clean water systems. Completed and awarded a Ph.D. on educational leadership with a dissertation research study on the impact of short-term travel or study abroad on college preparation for high school students. GEFL 2021 Award, 100 Top Visionaries in Education. Honor Roll 2017, Life Changer of the Year by the National Life Group. Global Teacher Award Nominee 2015, Varkey Foundation. Alumni of Fulbright-Teachers for Global Classroom (TGC) US-State Department project on Global Education and 21st Century Skills for students. My TED Story started with using the platform to help students learn and broaden their perspectives. I became interested in organizing my community to share their stories of success and then got an opportunity to do my TEDx where I shared about the power of Imagination and innovation. In 2020, I helped to facilitate the viewing of the TEDWomen and it such an inspiration. I am now a TED-ED community member and growing to become a fully licensed TEDx organizer for an audience of over 100 people. TED platform continues to be the place for exchanging ideas to transform communities and the world. I am attending the TEDNext2024!
