I'm passionate about

I am passionate about almost everything i do. I love to make people smile, I love to give them comfort when they need it, I love to spread happiness and I love to be happy and make others happy...isn't that enough passion.

An idea worth spreading

I’ve been watching TEDx videos for the longest of time now and it made me wonder what makes one talk stand out from another. What differentiates an exceptional talk from a good talk. Why do people want to share one talk immediately and talk about it with family and friends? While working with a TEDx speaker – we discussed some of what makes a great “TED-idea”. More specifically, how do you tell a story, an idea that engages your audience and forces them to spread your message. Relatable: Do you have what it takes to convey your idea in a way that connects with your audience? Maybe it was a feeling of happiness, fear or sadness that led you to a revelation. Maybe sharing how you got there would make a good story. Everyone loves a good story. One of the talks I heard which connected with me the most was by Taiye Selasi: “Don’t ask me where I’m from, ask me where I’m a local”. Inspiring: Maybe TEDx speakers try too hard to be inspiring. Taking feedback from your listeners and then detailing your idea will make it rich and bring the subject to life. A speaker should be able to express themselves and match the audience’s mindset. Intimate: When a speaker shares something personal, they become vulnerable and are trusting the audience with their feelings. It is a great technique used to create a special bond with your audience and reduce the gap.

The TED story

My journey towards TED started when I came across my first TED talk- “The Unexpected Benefit of Celebrating Failure.” It’s a talk by Mr. Astro Teller, an Author and an Entrepreneur by Profession, who spoke about “Perspective shifting” through various examples derived from his entrepreneurial journey. The 15 minute talk had everything that I needed, to make me understand what it takes to communicate one’s idea in front of an audience, and a lot of questions on my mind to work on about my own perspective towards failure. This year, I got an opportunity to be the Co-Organiser of TEDxIMTHyderabad, which gave me a platform to experience what it takes to organise an event, and help my ideas turn into reality. My rationale behind organising this event is to help my community get a better understanding about different aspects of life from various speakers, who think out of the box and help their audience get a different outlook or help them absorb the knowledge about various subjects.

Things you might not know

I used to speak Malayalam fluently but lost the ability due to lack of practice. I have an incurable sweet tooth. I am also very good with faces and names.
