Bio

18 year old undergrad Political Science Major student from Kolkata, India.

I'm passionate about

I like to think of myself as a "Jack of all trades" as there are so many things I am passionate about. I love to dance and currently specialize in Bharatnatyam, an Indian classical dance form. My college major is Political Science and I take a deep interest in learning the theories as well as scrutinizing and analyzing the modern age International Relations and the political events happening through out the world. Although my college major is Political Science, I take a deep interest in the subject of Psychology and learning more about its applications in daily life, so that it helps me interact better with those around me and be more empathetic. I like to think of myself as a feminist and LGBTQ+ rights supporter and do what I can to make more people aware of these situations and try to change their orthodox mindset.

An idea worth spreading

Empathy towards people suffering from psychological disorders under the Autism Spectrum Disorder or Major Depressive Disorder syndromes. Different disorders have different consequences, and the people suffering from them should be treated with care and sympathy like a person suffering from any physical illness that is manifested externally. Today, we ask these people who are dying inside everyday to "toughen up" but a little more sympathy, and more importantly, empathy is required from everyone along with compassion to make life easier and beautiful for these people.

Areas of expertise

Debate, Feminism, Humanities, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology

The TED story

I haven't attended a TED talk yet but plan on hosting and organizing a TEDx talk in my University next year and hope that it will be the start of an amazing journey whereby I learn more everyday.
