Bio
I am a history teacher with an appetite for traveling. I've lived in Poland, the US, South Korea, the Netherlands and have enjoyed every part of it. I have a never ending thirst for knowledge and a curiosity that in part has been satiated by watching TED talks, traveling, but mostly reading a ton of books. I particularly enjoy reading non-fiction reportage pieces, my favorite written by Ryszard Kapuścinski.
My personal mission statement is "finding my place in the world, and making that place the best place it can be". Much of what I do revolves around this mission statement. The fact that I am a teacher speaks to this, as much of what I aim to do is not only teach, but lead young people to actively engage in their future. This is partly why I have decided to help organize a TEDxYouth at the school I currently teach at.
In my free time I like to ..... wait I don't have any free time, but if I did I would probably spend it reading books, playing ultimate frisbee and discussing ideas with friends.
I'm passionate about
Making the place I live the best place it can be. This can mean a lot of things. It can mean simple things like smiling to people in my community and doing the small things that may not be noticeable, but nevertheless can make someone's day.
I'm also passionate about helping students reach their full potential by being a good teacher and mentor.
