Expanding current business models to define success beyond short term (quarterly) profit will take the courage to consider that people and our natural environment are the world's ONLY assets. Gross National Happiness -- or some form of caring economics-- would allow us to consider long term stewardship of those two as the primary purpose for our very being. We are what we incentivize. It’s decidedly NOT business as usual. It’s a covenant between the makers and doers with the one’s buying and using all over the planet.

I used to work for a company based in Monterey-- we sometimes provided transportation services for some tedsters, though most of us didn't really know what went on at the Monterey Conference Center for years! Have been deeply moved by so many TED talks. For a while, it felt like that's where IDEAS and gone to hide until it was safe to come out again. Five years ago, began to work with a team and put together TEDxSantaCruz. Just completed our 2015 event themed: Radical Collaboration.
