Bio
A literacy engineer, seeking to reshape the teaching and learning experience in Ghana, Evans envisions an active citizenry empowered by functional literacy. Evans Owusu Amankwah has seven years’ professional experience in the teaching profession as a Cambridge English and Oxford Teacher’s Club member.
Evans founded the Midstream Literary Agency and has been promoting professional English language teaching and learning across Ghana. He has 24 CPD certifications from Cambridge and Oxford in English Language Teaching. A Mandela Washington Fellow, Dartmouth College Alumni and Tony Elumelu Foundation Grant Awardee, Evans also founded the Midstream English Teacher, an organization that envisions high performing English Teaching professionals in Ghana. He volunteers for Global Shapers of the World Economic Forum and Challenges Worldwide as a Content developer and Speaker/Pitch Judge respectively. In January 2017, he launched the first English Language Teaching journal in sub-Saharan Africa.

Aside his incessant passion for the teaching profession, Evans has been patient and persistent in an industry that is yet to be embraced and appreciated (the Continuing Professional Development industry).
In all of what Evans does, he demonstrates that he is Innovative and equipped for new and future challenges. His organisation, Midstream Literary Agency has been experimenting with new ideas and pursuing an enquiring approach in delivering superior and impact-driven educational solutions to schools in Ghana. This has been evident in how he is shaping the pathway for his organisation’s success. Evans is open to new challenges, resourceful, imaginative, and flexible. Evans is always ready to learn and apply new skills and techniques.
Evans is so passionate about providing ongoing support and engaging all level of teachers in learning. He knows the subjects he delivers well and know how to teach them. As empathetic as he is, he seeks to understand participants of his CPD programme and their training needs.
He is highly professional in his approach to teaching teachers and he is collaborative and supportive. He understands his actions will help shape future generations and is always concerned about the holistic development of every individual he teaches.
Finally, Evans is so passionate about learning within and beyond the classroom, sharing his knowledge and skills with teachers in the wider educational community, especially on social media. He engages intellectually, professionally and socially, ready to make a difference.
