I discovered TED online through the videos in 2011. The first video that I viewed was Ken Robinson's talk on how school kills creativity. That talk on the whole idea of ideas worth spreading inspired me to become a regular viewer of TEDTalks. Months after being inspired by the TED brand, I discovered the TEDx brand. I immediately thought that a TEDx event would be great for my community. I am happy to say that I was the TEDx Organizer for TEDxThunderBay, the inaugural event that took place on February 16, 2012, at Lakehead University, under the theme "Reinvention." This theme emphasized the collective effort to cultivate and develop a more vibrant community by inspiring reinvention and growth among its members.
