Elizabeth (Libby) Cheney is Head of Safety, Environment and Sustainable Development for Shell - Upstream Americas. Her accountabilities include incident free delivery for oil and natural gas exploration and production activities across North, Central, and South America. Libby began her career as a Reservoir Engineer in Kingsville, Texas. Her background includes a variety of technical and managerial roles associated with producing assets from offshore Gulf of Mexico to West Texas and California. Libby has managed field operations and engineering organizations and was a Technical Manager for major global development projects. Organizations that Libby is currently involved with include Chair of the Offshore Energy Center’s Board of Directors, the U.S. and Texas Oil and Gas Associations, Society of Petroleum Engineers Sustainability Committee and the Graham Environmental Sustainability Institute at the University of Michigan. Most recently Libby was honored as one of Houston's Top 50 Most Influential Women. Libby enjoys travel, time with family, and pursuit of her private pilot’s license. She is married to Mitch Cheney and they have three grown children, Alex, Zach, and Katie.
