Bio
I grew up in West Berlin, Germany, eventually moved to the United States 25+ years ago and worked in the legal industry. Over the course of the last few years, I have focused my energies on entrepreneurial endeavors, becoming a business owner and investing in those companies and ideas about which I am most passionate. In my free time I enjoy traveling the globe, reading mystery novels, playing bridge and tennis, and serves as a court appointed child advocate. I currently live in the Silicon Valley with my husband, adult son and three step children.
I'm passionate about
I passionately believe in women's equality and rights, I have been an outspoken advocate and most recently I attended the San Francisco Women's March. I am a member of the organisation 100 Women and Women For Women International. I am also an advocate for turtles and tortoises through WCS Wildlife Conservation Society.
An idea worth spreading
We need support more movies made by and for women. It is a shame that we are still only making baby steps in that arena especially when every movie made by a woman turns out to be so good. Check out "The Valley" directed and produced by Saila Kariat (and me). Saila is an amazing woman and director. Another terrific first film by a woman "The Wedding Invitation". Rainy Kerwin came up with the idea, wrote the screenplay, directed and employed 99% women to get the film off the ground. I felt the need to support her as well. Women Rock!
The TED story
My TED story is just beginning. I am open to new experience and meeting exciting and interesting people. The more the better.
