Betsy Staff is the Director for New Student Programs and of Parent and Family Programs at Binghamton University in Binghamton, NY. She received her Master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration from Binghamton University and her Bachelor’s degree in Music Industry from SUNY Oneonta. She has worked with the Binghamton Orientation program for over 15 years through a variety of roles from support staff to Director. She has supervised many student leaders and graduate students throughout her tenure and greatly enjoys witnessing the growth that one goes through as a student leader. One area she is particularly fond of is advising the TEDxBinghamtonUniversity student directors. Since 2016, she has led student leaders through the curation of many TEDx events including TEDx Salons. She was fortunate to attend TEDWomen 2017 as well as TEDFest 2018 and can’t wait for her next event!

I started working with the student directors of TEDxBinghamtonUniversity at Binghamton University as a liaison in 2016 because of my connection with the campus community and event planning background. In 2017 I became their advisor and then by 2018 their license holder! Since then, I have curated 6 TEDxBinghamtonUniversity conferences and 3 TEDxBinghamtonUniversity Salons! We even hosted a virtual conference due to the COVID-19 pandemic! I truly love working with student leaders and witnessing the amazing work they spend the entire year planning for. It is definitely a favorite part of my job!
