A Renaissance (Wo)Man, Isabella-Suzanne is a children's media global educator and judge, digital media storyteller, documentary filmmaker, author, public speaker and activist who campaigns for Resilience and Mental Health for youth affected by trauma (war children, orphans/social orphans, immigrants, refugees) Ms. Kanso is on a mission to promote inclusivity, identity and representation through her work and travels both locally and internationally. Of Lebanese origin, she moved to Canada when she was eight months old, and identifies as a resilient refugee immigrant and storyteller. She spends her time running her school, facilitating children’s media workshops on both a local and global scale, visiting various schools to speak about her book No Parrots in Space! and the importance of cultivating a future that’s embedded in inclusivity and diversity. To date, Ms. Kanso has received three presidential awards, a letter of recognition from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, a national award from the Canadian Event Industry Awards and International Recognition from BizBash for Paint the Town Green – a 15,000 internationally led group of volunteers in 8 countries and 14 cities for best sustainability and social responsibility event. She is also the winner of My Hero International Film Festival "The Day I Became Strong: When I Confronted the Teacher from Lebanon” and Reel World Film Festival “Listen to Me” as Co-Director and Researcher, and featured as one of the Top 50 success stories in 50 Years in Toronto, Canada and recently shortlisted for Dubai’s 2023 Outstanding Leadership in Education Award!
