Bio
Jan had a 20-year career in law, the media, sports marketing, broadcasting, and business management. A former Wall Street lawyer, she moved on to ABC Sports in business and legal affairs. After a stint at KOMO-TV in Seattle as a reporter, she wrote the marketing plan for the 1990 Goodwill Games.
In 1984 Jan joined the Seattle Supersonics (NBA) as vice president of marketing and broadcasting. Later she co-founded Lavender Heart Botanicals, a gift manufacturing company, and served on the advisory board for the Hart Marx Corporation. She was a 9 year member on the Board of Trustees for the Seattle Foundation and co-taught a graduate course at Seattle University in sports administration and leadership. Jan was a contributor for the Huffington Post and co-founder of Whitsitt Enterprises, a consulting business. She is co-founder of the Trudy Sundberg Lecture Series on Whidbey Island. YPO NW. Jan is on the leadership team for SanctuariesOfTheEarth.org eventually leading to the creation of a Museum of the Earth in Seattle housing a collection of conscientiously mined colossal and rare crystals.
Graduated from Yale University Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Her law degree is from the University of Virginia.
