Assaf Biderman

Assaf is an entrepreneur, scientist, and tech executive. He is the Chief AI and Corp Dev Officer at Kraken Technologies, a company that delivers an end-to-end software platform for utilities worldwide to make the transition to green energy quicker and more affordable. Assaf is also the co-director of MIT’s Senseable City Lab, which he co-founded in 2003. The lab focuses on advancing the science and engineering of AI and analytics technologies to tackle the key challenges faced by cities, with particular emphasis on energy, transportation, and health. Assaf founded 3 startups in the fields of electric mobility, demand forecasting, and robotics. In 2013, he founded Superpedestrian, a company pioneering the decarbonization of transportation through predictive analytics. As CEO for over a decade, Assaf grew the company’s operations to 11 countries, leveraging its technologies across diverse industries, from commercial fleets to personal mobility. Assaf’s background is in physics. He holds over 150 patents and scientific publications, and has been honored with multiple international awards including the Red Dot Luminary, Time Magazine, Thomas Edison, and James Dyson awards.
