-M.Sc. & Ph. D. in Civil Engineering from Penn State (1971).

- Faculty member at the College of Engineering, King Saud University, Riyadh (1971-1980).
- Dean of the School of Engineering, King Saud University, Riyadh (1975-1978).
- Director of Ove Arup & Partners (Saudi Arabia) Ltd, Consulting Engineers, Riyadh (1975-1980).
- Licensed Civil Engineer in Saudi Arabia since 1980.
- Director-General of the Saudi Electricity Company in the Western Region (SCECO West) 1981-1986.
