Bio

When Miguel returns to Oberá, Misiones, where he was born, he cannot stop seeing his surroundings with the images that his father, Anatolio, bequeathed to the city for 40 years as a social photographer. These images, many of them in black and white, speak of a shared past, of immigrant families that arrived in the province first and then the city, with a firm decision to change their future. With fears, sure, with reservations, too, but with a determination forged in the belief that work, persistence, trust, respect and solidarity, were essential elements for the construction of each personal history within the collective history. He had to go to Buenos Aires to study Communication first, and then to Rosario to study Laws. He ended up dedicating himself to education and new technologies, with the conviction that a significant improvement in education is crucial for a significant improvement in the future of the new generations. On the way he wrote and published some fiction and poetry books, allso of law and education. Someone said that talent is evenly distributed, but what is not evenly distributed are opportunities. He is convinced that in his province, Misiones, there is a lot of talent and he believes that dedicating a part of his time to organize a TEDxYouth is contributing to that talent showing and evolving. Misionrs was always a land of opportunities, that is why we must water in the spirit of the first settlers and pioneers who opened the paths for this beautiful province to find the strength to persist in the task of helping the development of young people and with it, improve the future of everyone. And what better place for that than in TED!. Ideas worth spreading.

I'm passionate about

My passion is knowledge and ways to access it. I believe that everyone has the right to be educated in the highest standards, so that each person who leaves school is more than an individual loss, it is a loss for the whole society that ignores the potentials that were left on the road. I believe more in doing than in diagnosing, that's why mine is not the empty discussion but the exchange of opinions that leads to action and that action produces a result of real and beneficial change in the individual and social.

An idea worth spreading

In 2015 I designed and I currently lead the Educational Innovation Program of the Ministry of Education of the province of Misiones "Plataforma Guacurarí". In this year, we work with 25 schools, 6000 students and 300 teachers to apply flipped learning and other methodologies that allow us to take the step from passive and traditional learning to active learning that respects the different rhythms of each student and works more focused on self-learning, autonomy, Individualization and creativity. My goal is extend that Program to other schools and provinces.

The TED story

The province of Misiones, in Argentina, is the youngest in the country. 40% of its population is under 18 years old and their average age is 23 years. What an awesome place to organize a TEDx Youth! So we did it and it was a great event, in the month of September. Later I participated in the TEDxBariloche, in the city of Bariloche Argentina, where the Workshop for Organizers of the Southern Cone was also held. Finally, in the month of October of 2017 I was speaker at the TEDxRosario, where I spoke about educational innovation. Now I'm going to the TEDFest to raise the category of our TEDxYouth and be able to extend participation to more young people.
