Bio
I am a creative director and curator with a long track record as an entrepreneur, connector and brand builder. I founded the REMO General Store in Sydney in 1988; and the General Thinking network in 2001. I also enjoy a long association with TED (TEDster since 1993); and in 2009 I founded TEDxSydney. More recently I founded REMORANDOM, a biannual book series that celebrates "everything interesting" with a printed curation of snack-sized stories, ideas and observations designed to inform, entertain and inspire a global community of curious readers. Check them out in the TED2025 bookstore :) I live by the beach in North Bondi with my wife Melanie and a black dog named Olive. I have two children: Lola (30, living and working as an artist, goldsmith and mechanical engineer in Rotterdam) and Roman (26, an artist and surfer living in the Margaret River region of West Australia). Optimism drives me. Believing that my best work lies AHEAD keeps me young and foolish. My motto: Do Good Work. Have Some Fun.

The TED story
The Sydney-based brand "REMO" had been supplying Quality T Shirts and other merchandise to TED Conferences (off and on) since Richard Saul Wurman invited me (and a spare 800 award winning REMO Catalogues) along to TED4 in Kobe in 1993. Over the years I've worked on some fun projects with TED, e.g. in 2012 they asked me to explore a TEDCafe brick and mortar concept. I'm also the founder and licensee for TEDxSydney ... and that keeps me very connecTED.
