Bio
Athena is a London based Anglo-Greek singer songwriter. Her debut album "Breathe With Me" was released independently in the UK in 2008 by Embraceable Records to rave reviews:

Her three, near sell out UK tours headlined venues like the Jazz Cafe, Sage Gateshead, Queen Elizabeth Hall and festivals like Glastonbury (Acoustic Stage with Susan Vega and Joan Baez), the album reaching No 5 in the UK Amazon and No 17 in the Virgin charts. She was featured in an exclusive one hour documentary entitled MyMusic aired on Channel 5 and SkyArts in 2008 with Athena being hailed as one of the leading new UK singers and songwriters.
She has collaborated and written with artists such as Chris Difford (Squeeze), Adam Levy (Norah Jones), Chaz Jankel (Blockheads), Marti Pellow (Wet Wet Wet), Geoff Martyn (Travis), Mike Rowe (Sheryl Crow), Eric Appapouley & Richard Cassell (Plan B), Miles Zuniga (Fastball) amongst others.
Athena has recently finished recording her new album Peeling Apples in London with Swedish producers Tobias Froberg (Peter Bjorn and John, Ane Brun, Lisa Ekdahl) and Magnus Frykberg (Jay Jay Johanson, Sophia Tanvik, Neneh Cherry), and her long-term UK musical partners, multi-instrumentalist Ben Trigg (Arctic Monkeys, Elton John, Razorlight), Tom Mason (Donovan, Questlove), as well as Al Cherry (Gwyneth Herbert) on guitar, Roy Martin (Patricia Kaas, Aretha Franklin, Joan Baez) on drums, and featuring Ben’s Brother (Jamie Hartman) on a duet. In March 2010 she performed in the US at the prestigious SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
Her first record also received major publicity in Greece, where her new album Peeling Apples was released in the autumn of 2010 by EMI Greece, the album reaching No 12 in the combined charts for several consecutive weeks. She is also currently writing her first Greek record to be released by EMI in 2011 and her next international record. Peeling Apples international release also due in 2011.
