An idea worth spreading
The Life Lessons from Pyrrhic Victories.
Knowing which battles to face in order to win the war is vital in today's ever-changing life experiences. Not all battles are to be fought in other words, not all ambitions are to be met today some may be kept and faced later. One may pursue them today and achieve a small victory while creating a bigger problem in future.
For example, the need of Company A ( Supermarket) to buy out all her competitors to create a "monopoly of sorts" may lead to increased cash flow challenges leading to frequent stock-outs leading to the eventual loss in customers despite increased distribution and visibility. This happened in Kenya with Nakumatt Stores.
A Pyrrhic victory (/ˈpɪrɪk/ ( listen) PIRR-ik) is a victory that inflicts such a devastating toll on the victor that it is tantamount to defeat. Someone who wins a Pyrrhic victory has also taken a heavy toll that negates any true sense of achievement.
The TED story
I would like to create TED-like experiences across East Africa to inspire corporate knowledge, grow enterprises and inspire the youth to look for opportunities that are all around us.
By organizing the TEDx Kacyiru it has really helped me get connected to lots of individuals across East Africa.
