Mehdi Ordikhani-Seyedlar

Born in Iran, Mehdi Ordikhani-Seyedlar received his Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering. Alongside his previous studies in Neuroscience, Ordikhani-Seyedlar's research is on signal processing and pattern recognition of brain electrical signals. His focus is on human attention where he found certain patterns, to be implemented in the brain-machine interfaces. He performed a part of his research in Duke Center for Neuroengineering of Dr. Miguel Nicolelis' lab, where he made great discoveries regarding the neuronal patterns of activity using intra-cortical recording methods in monkeys. Ordikhani-Seyedlar is passionate to implement his ideas in other areas of cognitive neuroscience to push forward the science and technology in order to serve people who are suffering from certain cognitive disabilities. In his TED Talk, he shares some of these ingenuous ideas.
