Teaching! I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher and I could have never imagined, back when I was a child, that I would be fortunate enough to serve as a full time lecturer at a university at the age of 25. Informing students and training them on the communicative goals to help make them successful in both their professional and personal lives is something that I value greatly, whether they be traditional students in a classroom or corporate employees in a training session. Communication permeates EVERYTHING, so why not try to be better at it?

The idea that, no matter where you work or what you do, it is pertinent that you integrate a little bit of yourself into everything you do because that is what will make you stand out. Talk about your hobbies, talk about your fandoms, in other words, what makes you who you are?

My first interaction with TED was when I was asked to coach two speakers at our annual event in fall of 2016 at Texas State University. As I learned more about my speakers and the messages they wanted to send, I researched more about TED and fell in love with it. Ever since then, I have always searched for a way to be involved in our TEDx branch!
