Dr. Yara Shaban is the manager of West Asia-North Africa Institue and a senior researcher specializing in education within the Human Security and Social Justice domains. With a PhD in STEM Education from Tufts University and a background in electrical engineering from the University of Jordan, she delves into projects concerning the prevention of violent extremism, the evolution of education, social protection, and public policy research. Dr. Shaban's research focuses on knowledge development in learning environments, exploring the impact of language and culture on knowledge construction and communication. Her work also delves into understanding how individuals engage in thinking processes to foster knowledge acquisition in both formal and informal educational settings, emphasizing evidence-based programming to uphold human dignity through a human security lens.
