Bio
Helen Pearson is a science journalist, editor and author. As Chief Magazine Editor for the world’s leading science journal, Nature, she oversees all its journalism and opinion content. Her own stories have won accolades including the Wistar Institute Science Journalism Award and two best feature awards from the Association of British Science Writers. Helen’s popular science book, The Life Project, was published in 2016 to wide critical acclaim. It was named best science book of the year by The Observer and was a book of the year for The Economist. It tells the extraordinary story of the longest running study of human development in the world and the remarkable discoveries that have come from it. The Daily Mail called it “The greatest scientific experiment in modern British history…Fascinating, shocking, heartening”. Helen has a degree in natural sciences from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in genetics. She is working on her second book.
