Bio
Sergio Chaia is presently Nextel Brazil President and CEO. Mr. Chaia joined Nextel Telecomunicações Ltda. on January 17th, 2007. Since 1996, Mr. Chaia held positions at Sodexho Pass, a large French multinational, worldwide leader in catering solutions and service vouchers and cards, with subsidiaries in 60 countries. He joined the Service Vouchers and Cards Division as Marketing Director, was promoted to Managing Director in 2001 and in 2004 was named CEO for Sodexho Pass Brazil.Prior to 1996, Mr. Chaia held leadership positions with Pepsi Cola Drinks and Food Divisions, Makro Supermarkets and Johnson & Johnson. Mr. Chaia is Brazilian, 46 years old, married, he has one child. He likes to play soccer and squash, reading and meditation.
