An idea worth spreading

Today's professional culture yells how we can “have it all,” but rarely talks about when. I aim to bring more honest conversation: “With everything, not all at once.” It challenges the myth that we have inherited, the lie of doing it all, the ambition without an apology, the emotional labor that no one talks about, we all need to think on these lines again. We need to normalize trade-offs, fatigue, help and breakdowns, without framing them as failures. We need to name the invisible pressure that women or young professionals carry in their vulnerable moments. We need to introduce a new successful framework, which is seasonal, humane and sustainable.

The TED story

Growing up in an orthodox environment, my mother planted a seed in me, that I was good at speaking. By the age of 17, I could already see myself addressing crowds. Before I could fully realize or live that dream, I got married at 23. My husband reignited that dream, and I joined the corporate world. Just as I began thinking about climbing the corporate ladder, I had my first child at 25. Empowered by the belief that I could do it all, like every great woman leader out there, I rejoined corporate life. History repeated itself, and by 27, I was a mother of two. Still, I believed I could do it all. A travelling husband, two children, corporate responsibilities, and a deep hunger to achieve everything before turning 30, because, of course, we are superheroes. After more than 10 years of running in the race of having it all, all at once, I began to doubt myself. My vulnerability surfaced. Was I weak? How did everyone else seem to manage while I struggled? That’s when I stepped back, at the age of 29. Today, I carry a small, simple, yet powerful message to share. To girls, women, and young professionals: you can have it all, just not all at once. Slow down. Because slow is not weak. It’s strategic. It’s sustainable. It’s powerful.
