With over 30 years of experience in software design and development, I am passionate about creating and inspiring superb products that enable the full potential of ideas, enrich lives, and are a joy to use. I am a venture partner at AQC Capital, where I scout and evaluate startups in the digital health, cybersecurity, and enterprise productivity sectors, and advise AQC in their investment decisions. I am also the president and founder of Fredz, a private seed investment and advisory firm that supports entrepreneurs in building their next generation of products in these domains. Previously, I was the CEO and co-founder of Macadamian Technologies, a full-service software design and development firm that fuses design and technology to deliver innovative solutions for healthcare companies. Under my leadership, Macadamian grew to become a multi-million dollar consultancy with an award-winning work culture and a global staff of over 250 employees. In 2020, Macadamian was acquired by emids, a leader in health IT in the USA. I have worked with clients ranging from startups to some of the world's biggest and most innovative brands, such as Edwards Life Sciences, Siemens Healthineers, Fresenius, Anthem, Medtronic, SlipChip, Telus Health, and many more. Besides my professional endeavors, I am also deeply committed to environmental and social causes. I am on the board of Ottawa River Keeper, a local environmental group that strives to make the region a model for watershed management and regional collaboration, and to educate, advocate, and engage the public on water issues. I am also a co-founder of the Ottawa High School Technology Program, which encourages a passion for science in high school students. As of January 2024, I founded Aventure Capital in Gatineau, to support more entrepreneurs with angel investments, and helping folks not familiar with angel investments learn the ropes.
