Bio
Sailesh Singhal is a social worker and a youth activist, driving towards an active inclusion of youth through transparent and accountable methods. He is committed to work towards the empowerment of women, social justice and education to all. He has been appreciated by Ma’am Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka - Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN Women- as a HeForShe Hero. He is appointed as the Student Ambassador of Anti-Pollution Drive (APD). He is the elected President of SJC Student Union and had served the Union as the General Secretary for the same. He has worked with several organizations on human rights, gender empowerment, Free Education To All and humanitarian effectiveness. He is awarded as the Young Economist in the National Level Economics competition and the Best Finance Minister in the Bosco Imprenditore – focusing on understanding the complexities of the economy in the simple language. He is one of the organising members of the Bangalore Youth Festival – largest youth festival of the city.
Sailesh is well known for his debating and have won several competitions in the National Level Competitions. He has served SJC NSS as Joint Secretary. He serves IYONS as the Asian Advisor on the Youth policies. He is the lead author on the complexities of economics “Economics: A secured six.” Sailesh represented India as the Head Of State for the G20 Youth Summit organized by the G200 Youth Forum. Sailesh had been invited as a Youth Delegate for International Development Cooperation Meeting on Gender and Media and UNESCO GAMAG first ever General Assembly. He had also been elected as the Secretary General for the Global Market Challenges committee in the G200 Youth Forum. He also serves the Aid Orphanos as the Project Chairman. He is an active member of Policy and Strategy Group, World We Want and facilitates in the effective mobilization of young people towards humanitarian aid for UN MGCY.
Sailesh has been successful in creating awareness and understanding and accepting different cultures. With the trickle down approach, he has successfully proved the capacity to address issues at ‘Glocal’ (Global + Local) level. He has vast experience in facilitating and creating strategies for the development processes, public relations, negotiations, campaigning and diplomacy. He has also been invited by various organizations to speak on gender equality and youth empowerment.
