Writer/Editor
Bio
I help lead TED's climate initiative Countdown, serving as lead curator. I am also an award-winning journalist and I wrote a book about the perhaps unusually optimistic people trying to make a better unnatural world. I've written for magazines ranging from Scientific American to Elle on subjects ranging from astronomy to sex. I am the host of the documentary series “Beyond the Light Switch” for PBS as well as the "The Ethanol Effect." I also do all kinds of fun things for TED, from hosting to writing TED Ed lessons. And I have a pro-tip for you: Charles Darwin’s The Origin of Species is a surprisingly good read.
