Student

I am currently in 12th grade at the American School of Dubai. I am from Boston, Massachusetts, but have lived around the world in London, Hong Kong, and Dubai for the more formative years of my adolescence.

As a millennial, I am passionate about creating sustainable, powerful, and positive change in the current international community’s processes and actions. Through living abroad for the majority of my life, I have had first hand exposure to international issues and have acquired the ability to speak both Mandarin and Arabic. In the future, I wish to carry forward my passion for world issues through studying international relations in university to hopefully become a diplomat in the future.

For years now TED Talks have been a source of inspiration and and intellectual challenge for me. In my free time, I regularly surf the TED library for talks on new discoveries, fascinating skills, and emerging perspectives/theories. Even though I have greatly benefited from TED, not until recently had I thought about trying to spearhead an initiative to bring TED to my own school community to replicate the same positive impact TED has had on me. After speaking to the head organizer of a TEDx conference at a nearby school, I was inspired to pursue organizing a TEDx Conference for ASD. I look forward to bringing this idea to fruition in April 2017.
