About Brook
Bio
I began my editing career in book publishing and trained as an acquisitions editor. Despite my fondness for print—books, newspapers, and the turned or dog-eared page—I also enjoy working with digital content, especially because of the fluidity it brings to publishing. More important, I’m passionate about supporting and promoting diverse voices and perspectives in publishing, whatever the medium.
On a broader level, I’m a global citizen who has lived for a short stint in Greece and Japan and for longer periods in Zurich and London. The wide, diverse world is my community, my concern, and my passion.
I'm passionate about
Social justice; ethics; literature and literacy; scientific moonshots; exploring joy, sorrow, and what it means to be human
An idea worth spreading
This thought from TED speaker Chris Abani: “The world is never saved in grand messianic gestures, but in the simple accumulation of gentle, soft, almost invisible acts of compassion, everyday acts of compassion.” (On Humanity)
