Eric Howard

Mr. Eric Howard has been building bridges between leaders interested in science, technology and business for twenty years. He started his professional career as an Information Officer at the IUCN Environmental Law Center in Bonn, Germany, where he served as information officer in the law and policy library during the two years leading up to the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio and the signing of the UN Climate Convention. Since Bonn, much of his work has focused on managing programs and directing non-profit organizations with a focus on science and technology innovation and environmental conservation. He was executive director of the Maine Wood Products Association from 1998-2002, working primarily on economic development issues for small businesses. He had been a Fulbright scholar to Germany in 1989-90 (there for the fall of the Berlin Wall) and was full-time executive director of the Fulbright Academy from 2005-2012, organizing multinational conferences, workshops, and local programs for the global Fulbright alumni community. And from 2013-17, he was a Corporate & Outreach Manager at Northeastern University's College of Engineering and a doctoral student in the university's doctorate in education program.

Many Fulbright alumni have spoken at or attended TED conferences and programs. In 2012, I was the lead organizer for the inaugural TEDxFulbright event in Cambridge, Massachusetts. My goal has been to work with Fulbrighters and other global leaders -- to spread their unique skills, and to leverage their knowledge, abilities and connections for the greater good.
