TEDxSaigon 2010 is the first TEDx event in Vietnam and operated under license from TED by a group of initiatives from RMIT University Saigon South, Drexel University, HCMC University of Economics.
The license to hold TEDxSaigon was gained on 24 June 2010. The licensee is Bui Mai-Linh, a Vietnamese woman who has received a scholarship to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Communications at Drexel University, U.S.A.
TEDxSaigon is currently listed on TED.com, under Find a TEDx event near you as one of the upcoming TEDx events http://www.ted.com/pages/view/id/348
All of the TEDxSaigon talks will be filmed in high quality, subtitled in Vietnamese, and uploaded to TEDx’s official channel on YouTube.
i. Theme: “Dream, Diversity and Development”
ii. TEDxSaigon Speakers:
At TEDxSaigon, eight speakers belonging to three groups—non-Vietnamese, people of Vietnamese descent and young Vietnamese—will deliver 3-18 minute talks in TED format to spark discussions and collaboration.
They come from a diversity of industries—including Academia, Business, Social Work and the Arts, all of whom have good understanding of Vietnam and rich experience in development work, dream big, and most importantly, they own “Ideas Worth Spreading.”

iii. Audience:
A total of 100 high-profile guests, including influential scholars, practitioners and student leaders will be invited to TEDxSaigon.
The audience members, invited because of their uniqueness, will be able to bring the ideas from the conference to their own communities, and into reality.
iv. Language of Communication: English
v. Admission:
TEDxSaigon is a totally non-profit event. Admission to the event is 100% free to its invitees. TEDxSaigon speakers are not paid.
