Let's ban the "natural" label for processed foods

I attended TEDWomen in 2010 andI was deeply moved not just by the speakers, but also by many of the people that I met. While listening to Dr. Elizabeth Lindsey speak, all I could think about was how many talented and remarkable people I had encountered on Maui. Yet, I would commonly hear people say things like..."there is no intellectual community on Maui." Dr. Lindsey was speaking about her work preserving the rich Pacific culture and knowledge that is slowly fading as elders die and modernization takes over. I wanted everyone on Maui to see Hawaiian culture through her eyes and begin to see the abundance of inspired talented people all around us on Maui. When learning more about the TEDx program, I tweeted with a friend that was following me on Twitter and I asked her if she'd want to do TEDxMaui. She immediately said yes. I applied for a license as soon as I returned to Maui and off we went. TEDxMaui has gone on to be a huge success and we working on our 4th event now.
