Simarpreet is an award winning entrepreneur, World Economic Forum Global Shaper , TEDx speaker and a talk show host. He is the founder of Mindbatteries, India's first media edutainment venture. Mindbatteries creates intellectual experiences like TEDx Talks, Economic Times Business Quiz, Spell Bee Contests, Indian Sharktank, B Plan contests etc. Simar is also the founder of TEDxChandigarh and brought TEDx Talks to North of India. He has done candid interviews of extraordinary people as a talk show host; some of the interviewees include India's youngest billionaire, Olympic gold medalist etc. Simar organized India’s first Ideathon contest to encourage young entrepreneurs, with a prize money of 150,000 USD. Simarpreet has been recognized by World Economic Forum as a Global Shaper. The current way of learning is outdated and 2500 years old. Schools and colleges are mostly engaged in producing robots rather than thinkers. The new age edtech companies have just put class lectures online. Learning has to be a lifelong thing. It can be revolutionized by : a) Involving people in the process of learning at all stages b) Making education entertaining (edutainment)

One of my mentors told me 6 years back that instead of just reading books and Quora answers,there is another resource to get knowledge - TED talks. I spent full night watching videos and since then I have been a local brand ambassador(unofficial) of TED videos :) The videos have helped shape my mind on variety of issues and have helped me gain exposure sitting at home. Last year,I was invited to give a TEDx event which was like a dream come true. I hope to keep learning from TED talks and attend the onground live event of TED soon.
