Bio

Paul Waterman teaches Entrepreneurial Studies and Business Strategy at Grand Canyon University. Prior to entering the academic world he spent thirty years as a mostly successful entrepreneur operating in multiple countries and in very diverse industries. As founder, principal, or investor, Mr. Waterman has been involved in dozens of start-up businesses. Returning to graduate school almost ten years after receiving a BS in Real Estate from Arizona State University, Mr. Waterman earned an MBA, with distinction, from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management where his studies focused on International Finance. He holds Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certifications from The Project Management Institute and Certified Scrum Master and Certified Product Owner certifications from the Agile Alliance. Paul has been a licensed real estate broker in Arizona since 1987 and is an active pilot holding a Commercial Multi-Engine Instrument rating. Mr. Waterman is a Member of the Real Estate Board of the Arizona Mexico Commission. Mr. Waterman’s passions include teaching and mentoring the next generation of entrepreneurs, growing the start-up ecosystem anywhere it may take root, and applying agile methodologies to just about any process that needs innovation or any team that is ready to excel.
