Bio

Based in Pune, India I'm an aspiring change maker who believes that he can make the world a better place. My motto in life is "Come. Conquer. Inspire. Leave"

I'm passionate about

To me, passion is how I conduct myself; it is my manner of walk and talk, my truth and my love. Throughout my life, I’ve always said, “I want to be something great, something substantial, I want to build my own legacy.” My determination is backed by an inner voice that pushes me to do this. The thing I’m deeply passionate about is entrepreneurship. The entrepreneurial spirit has taught me a lot of things like courage, the power of knowledge, patience, kindness, leadership, remark-ability and the importance of ideas. On the same lines, I’m very keen on learning different business models and helping a business grow, mainly through marketing and branding. I love to establish a certain personality to any kind of business or enterprise, so people can relate more to it. “Bread will last a day, pennies might stretch a week, but an education lasts a lifetime.” I firmly believe that the solution to a nation's problems lies in the quality of their education. It's my aim to do whatever I can towards quality education in the country. Apart from this, I have a vested interest in music, films, cinematography, direction, food, drinks and sports. I am a politics aficionado and always enjoy debating over global issues, be it military or economics. Once while reading through a few excerpts from the Bhagavad Gita, I came across a line which said that unless one selflessly contributes to the society, they'll never have truly lived. It stuck with me and so with complete commitment, I always try to help any social endeavour or any event or company that tries to make the world a better place. I’ve always been drawn to things that have a huge sense of purpose. There are several other small activities that pique my interest from time to time, but my major passions have been covered.

An idea worth spreading

An idea of collaborative education that not only strengthens students academically but also teaches them about the habits of success. There is a very good proven science behind success and habits that help us win and I think these are equally important to be taught to students along with developing their technical skills.

The TED story

I was exposed to TED talks roughly around 5 years ago. Back then, I had no idea that TED and TEDx were two different entities nor did I know what TED’s vision was. I simply loved watching these TED talks. I always understood the uniqueness and peculiarity of each talk, but my mind never encompassed the power of the platform. I was overwhelmed at how within 18 minutes somebody could change your life by imparting knowledge in such a wondrous way that it would influence you forever. TED talks didn’t tell us to be motivated, they told how to be motivated, they didn’t tell us to make a change, but how to make a change. The holistic approach of the speakers and their content drew me more and more towards TED. My interest in TED was piqued even more when I heard about a TEDx event happening in my own college. The buzz around this event was immense and it was dubbed as the flagship event of the year. The feeling and perception that everyone had towards this event were awe-inspiring and personal. It was unbelievable how everyone was so harmoniously drawn towards a concept, first in front of a screen and now before their very eyes. I then attended the TEDx event in our college- TEDxVITPune. What I loved about the event was how passionate the whole community was, from the organizers to the speakers and even the sponsors. It was amazing to witness a culture within this community that encouraged people to care, have a purpose and deliver an experience like none other. The talks were nothing like ordinary keynotes or life stories or a mediocre speech; it was about powerful ideas. Following my experience as an attendee, I decided to join the organizing team of TEDxVITPune and now for the past two years, this culture has grown and rooted itself inside me. During my time in the organizing committee, I realized how powerful this platform is and how ideas resonated beyond our venue. The synergy of TED and TEDx, the sense of purpose of the event coupled with my commitment to make the world a better place inspire me to organize it.
