Marcos Navas is a visionary educator, entrepreneur, and advocate for technological integration in learning environments. With over two decades of experience in the educational sector, Marcos has dedicated his career to empowering students and teachers through innovative technology and educational practices. As the founder and CEO of Hands on Coding, Marcos leads a dynamic team in developing educational solutions that incorporate coding, design thinking, and digital storytelling into classroom experiences. Hands on Coding not only offers unique physical coding blocks that teach programming without the need for digital devices but also provides cutting-edge workshops that inspire creativity and enhance learning. In his role as a TED Ed Innovative Educator and a TEDx Organizer, Marcos has been instrumental in spreading educational innovation through TED Talks and TED Clubs. His work focuses on elevating student voices and equipping them with the tools to shape their futures. He is the lead organizer of TEDxJerseyCity. Recognizing the need to bridge the diversity gap in technology, Marcos founded Latinos in Coding. This organization aims to increase the participation and visibility of the Hispanic community in computer sciences. Through Latinos in Coding, Marcos has launched various initiatives, including coding clubs and professional development workshops, that support Latinos in their pursuit of technology careers. Marcos’s passion for gaming and education led him to co-found the Esports Creative League, an innovative platform that transforms and elevates gamers into creators. This initiative connects gaming with educational outcomes by enabling students to develop their own games and digital content, fostering skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity. Most recently, Marcos has ventured into the realm of entrepreneurship with the launch of Teacherspreneur. This platform provides educators with opportunities to earn additional income as consultants and, eventually, launch their own business. Studentspreneur is a non profit that allows students to gain real world work experience through their social enterprise program where a team of students help create digital tools for local small businesses. It also allows students to learn about the world of entrepreneurship and help launch their own business. Separately, Marcos is pioneering the use of the Metaverse as a transformative tool for collaboration and engagement. Through his innovative approach, Marcos is sharing and creating customized 3D immersive spaces that cater to the specific needs of organizations, companies, and artists. This venture not only enhances digital interaction but also revolutionizes the way entities connect and operate within virtual environments, making it a cutting-edge solution for global connectivity and interactive learning.
