Bio

Portuguese researcher and artist, born in 1974, that uses both audio and visual media. His work takes on multiple forms such as installation, performance, theatre, photography, radio, video, recordings and sound pieces. He is currently developing his artistic language with the aim to foster innovative audio-visual processes, related with real-time sound visualization and exploring site-specific sound and image relations, developing the thesis “Sound and visual performance in a contemporary world”, at the PhD in Art Studies at University of Coimbra with the orientation of Fernando Matos Oliveira (Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Coimbra) and Pedro Tudela (Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto). He creates sound and visual landscapes that generate different interpretations and ambiguous emotions, with the aim to transport the audience to unknown places, and his works were listened and presented in museums, concert rooms, festivals and public spaces, such as Galeria Santa Clara, Mercearia de Arte, Aqui Base Tango, Salão Brazil, Casa das Caldeiras, Casino da Figueira, Mosteiro de Santa Clara-a-Velha and TAGV – Teatro Académico de Gil Vicente, and in events, such as Salva-a-Terra - Ecofestival de Musica, Freedom Festival, PAISAGENS NEUROLÓGICAS and TEDxCantanhede. He also integrates the artistic collectives POLYTOPE and ENDNOTES. From his several artworks it can be underlined: “chilled winter sunrise” (2013) and "gentle breeze at sunset" (2011) audio recordings; "the dreams in open" (2014) polaroid photo book; “UTOPIA” (2014), “EMO2 - EMOtions through mEMOries” (2014), “dreams and emotions” (2012) and “odd future” (2010) audiovisual performances; “everyday life” (2014) and “The Awakening” (2014) audiovisual theaters; “Aquae fugit” (2013) and “H2O” (2013) audiovisual concerts; "herbarium#01" (2014), "the sacred barrier" (2014) and “goodbye, until my return!” (2014) installations; “a casu et reflexione” (2013), “ars est celare artem” (2012) photography exhibitions; “future jazz chills” (2011), “lounge flavours” (2010) e “hypnotic electronic grooves” (2009) audio performances; and “Jazz Café” (2013), “Sound Flavours” (2013) and “Lounge FM” (2012) radio shows.
