Linet K

Linet is a Masters student at the University of Pretoria, pursuing an MSc in Environmental Economics. She found herself on this path after her Honours research project made her realise the potential that the field of environmental economics has to make an impact on the natural capital and environmental policy of this continent and the world. This, she believes, is just one of the ways in which the poor and marginalized societies of Africa can be uplifted as some of their main sources of livelihood are in natural capital. She is passionate about education and youth development as well. Some of her most recent notable achievements are being able to graduate Cum Laude for her Honours degree and being part of a team that organized the very first (and very successful) TEDx event in Pietermaritzburg. Linet has lived in three separate African countries in her lifetime – Kenya, Botswana and South Africa.
