Patrick Vogt is a longtime TEDster—nearing 20 years of helping shape the TED community and championing ideas and helping them come to life!
He is the CEO of Academic Programs International (API) and the API Foundation, a nonprofit where purpose to serve students meets innovation. With over 30 years of leadership across tech, digital media, health, and education, Patrick is reimagining global learning through human-centered innovation and a new AI platform, ConnectAIQ.
Before joining API, Patrick served as CEO of The National Research Center for College & University Admissions™ (NRCCUA), now a part of ACT®. There, he spearheaded initiatives that empowered millions of K-12 students through myOptions™, the nation’s largest free college and career planning program. Under his leadership, he architected a new enrollment technology, the Encoura™ platform changed an industry creating a powerful ecosystem for data-driven enrollment and institutional success—blending insight with empathy to support lifelong educational journeys. Encoura is one of the fastest adopted platforms in history and used by over 95% of the colleges and universities in the United States.
Patrick’s career bridges Fortune 100 powerhouses and bold startups. He’s held senior roles at The Weather Channel, Sony, HP, and Dell, and as CEO of the Emmy-winning HealthiNation, brought critical wellness stories to millions.
